Who knew? When the McCann-Erickson creative team proposed a television commercial that featured hundreds of Century 21 real estate agents picking up a house and “moving” it, I’m not sure we imagined that we would travel to from sunny California to sunny Spain to shoot the darn thing. (All about affordability and avoiding SAG talent fees.)
When the location was selected, not only were travel plans coordinated for the agency creative team, the agency producer, and several people from the production company, we also had to worry about wardrobe – specifically the mandatory gold Century 21 blazers that each of the actors would have to wear. Because no one else on the account service team had ever heard of Academy Clothing in downtown Los Angeles, I got the job!!
Rounded up approximately 450 jackets, men/women, size small to extra large, from any and all of the companies that sold the jackets. Figured out how to package them. Figured out how to ship them. Figured out how to get them through customs. Figured out how to get them back to Los Angeles. (I left the worry about pressing them to the wardrobe person on location!)
